It feels like forever since I’ve posted a a new set of outfits for the No Repeat Work Wear Challenge. We were on Fall Break for a week, and we came back ready for the best time of the year: HALLOWEEN!
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I’m obsessed with Halloween. It’s always been my favorite holiday, and I don’t think that will ever change. Luckily enough for me, it’s becoming more and more popular to celebrate here in Denmark. Last year, I only dressed up on costume day. This year, I took it one step further and put together a whole week of Halloween-inspired outfits.
Let’s take a peek at the Halloween looks!
On Monday, there was no class due to a teacher in-service, so Tuesday was the first day of Halloweek. I kept it casual by layering a thrifted denim shirt over a black and white longline tee from Moss Copenhagen. I added a touch of spookiness with some ghost leggings I snagged from BooHoo and finished the look with my heeled ankle boots from JustFab.
On Wednesday, I wore a jack-o-lantern t-shirt that I picked up at Target a few years ago. It’s super soft and glows in the dark, so it’s pretty much perfect. As for bottoms, I layered some gray patterned tights from who knows where (I literally have no idea where I got them) under a gray mini skirt from H&M. On my feet, I wore my gray and black Vans. Of all the outfits I wore this week, this was the one my students liked the most.
On Thursday, I layered a white, longline tank top from H&M under a neon sweatshirt by Moss Copenhagen. I put a little Hallowen twist with some skeleton leggings that I found in the kids’ section of H&M. I was really getting into the spirit of dressing up, so I threw my hair in messy pigtail buns, and added a necklace as well as a bright red lip (Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso by Stila). This was the outfit that was the most complimented by my coworkers.
On Friday, I wore an amazingly adorable swing dress that I found on BooHoo. I’m completely in love with the Halloween print and wish I could wear it year round! To finish off this look I added some black tights from H&M, my black flats from Target, and a bit of bright orange lipstick (Velour Liquid Lipstick in Flamethrower by Jeffree Star). This was probably my favorite outfit of the week.
Yesterday was Halloween! OMG YAY HALLOWEEN! I had been planning my Dora the Explorer costume for weeks, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. The pink t-shirt is from BooHoo, and I added a nude(ish) long sleeved shirt from H&M underneath for warmth. I found orange pants on BooHoo and cut them into Dora-length shorts because apparently finding orange shorts that aren’t teeny-tiny is basically impossible. I found yellow socks at H&M, and the white sneakers are from a discount store in Copenhagen. I completed the Dora look by printing out Backpack’s face and safety pinning it onto my beloved, purple Fjällräven. For an added touch, I rolled up a white paper and tucked it into a side pocket to serve as Dora’s trusted Map.
My class was thrilled to see that I had dressed up as a character that they knew and loved, and a good deal of the older students liked the costume as well.
I’m incredibly sad to say goodbye to Halloween, but I’m already thinking about my costume for next year! Now it’s time to turn my attention to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
