I’m back with my first update for the No Repeat Work Wear Challenge since I broke my hand on November 25th. I missed a full week of work due to my injury, and on Monday, I went back to the hospital for secondary x-rays. I was happy to hear the doctor say I was healing up nicely. He even took the bulky cast off my arm and replaced it with a removable brace. I only get to take it off when I shower, but that’s better than nothing!
Having this brace makes the challenge a little bit more difficult because a lot of my sweaters and shirts don’t fit over it. Luckily, I have enough clothing that I still have a good amount of options.
So let’s see what I wore this week!
I was in the hospital for a good chunk of Monday which meant that Tuesday was my first day back at work. I was excited to finally be out of the house, so I threw on a happy face t-shirt that I bought from YesStyle. I wore it with a black skirt and patterned tights from H&M and my black lace up booties. I topped it all off with a super cozy, black, waffle-knit cardigan from BooHoo.
On Wednesday, I wore black H&M jeans and a salmon t-shirt with wide 3/4 sleeves that I also picked up from YesStyle. I still needed a bit of extra warmth, so I added a gray, poncho-style cardigan from BooHoo. To keep the look from getting too casual, I wore my black, heeled booties.
On Thursday, I just wanted to be comfortable. I threw on some ASOS leggings, a long beige tank top, and an olive, leopard print sweatshirt by H&M that I picked up from a thrift store. And of course, I had to add my favorite brown lace up booties. I definitely found that doing your hair with a broken hand is extremely difficult, and I struggled to put it up in my usual messy bun. The final product wasn’t as nice as I wanted it to be, so I tried to dress it up with a headband.
On Friday, I kept it simple. I wore an oversized gray t-shirt from Zara with my Ann Taylor jeans. During my time off last week, I (carefully) dug around my closet looking for things I haven’t worn yet this school year, and I unearthed these gray booties that I completely forgot I had! I think I got them at a discount store in Philadelphia, but I really don’t remember. I’m sure I’m going to be wearing these a lot more now that I’ve found them again.
And that wraps up Week 13 of the challenge! I’m going to do my best to get a little bit more festive next week. I do like Christmas of course, but it’s just not my favorite holiday. Therefore, I really don’t have any holiday options in my closet, but we’ll see if I can come up with anything!
