Hi, I’m Angie! I’m half Mexican, half Venezuelan, and 100% American. I left the US in 2014, and I’ve never looked back.
I started this way blog back in 2015 while living in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I spent 9 years embracing hygge, transitioning from early childhood edcuation to marketing, and navigating life as a non-EU foreigner. I moved to Playa del Carmen in 2023 to be closer to family and finally put my Mexican citizenship to good use.
There’s nothing I love more than sharing all of the incredible experiences that Playa (and the Riviera Maya) have to offer. If you love swimming in cenotes, sipping cocktails at beach clubs, visiting local festivals, or getting birria tacos from the truck on the corner, I’m your girl.
This blog has always been a place for me to write about my everyday adventures through the lenses of the multiple cultures that have shaped me. I document the messy, magical parts of living abroad as a US-MX dual citizen (and recovering No Sabo Kid) who’s lucky enough to work remotely. Welcome to my little slice of paradise!
